I usually live in skirts and dresses in the summer and this summer will be no exception. But some days you wake up and say, I don't want to shave my legs today! So, I give myself a break with some pants every now and then! Plus, these are my favorite, if you've been reading my blog awhile you know how much I love these pants. I just really felt like I needed them today. We've been hit by the allergy fairy at our house which means the Pants Monkey and I are groggy and cranky most mornings lately, so today I needed the pick me up I get from wearing these! Plus, I haven't worn them with this red shirt yet!
Funny story, I get into work and go to punch in, and the downstairs receptionist looks at me and says "that is a cute outfit, I really like it." I say thank you and get ready to go on my way and then she says "only YOU can pull off pants like that." And she really did mean it as a compliment, but the way she said it was kind of like "only YOU can prevent forest fires." I laughed and thanked her again.
I get a lot of compliments every time I wear this red shirt. It is not something I would have likely picked out for myself, so I have to thank Megan and Nora Bird - if they hadn't pulled it out for me at their styling event in January I wouldn't have it now and wouldn't have so many people tell me they like it! I love it!

I love this outfit! I've always loved checked trousers! I went through a mad tartan trousers stage in the 90's and I still sigh with envy when I see them! The shirt is lovely! They chose well!
ReplyDeleteThat top IS super cute on you! :) Hope those allergies are feeling better! I've been sneezing all day, too!

Punching in? I thought that only existed on Flintstones episodes!! I'm fascinated! I kind of wish it worked that way at my work place - I am always at work about 15 minutes early... being able to bank that time would be great!
ReplyDeleteSorry - I get distracted by the small things!
I think the whole outfit looks terrific on you. The color combination is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable- those pants are so funky and I love the bright red and fun S&D necklace! My man has bad allergies too and I try to be as sympathetic as I can! Love your new blog header (and P.S. I wore a skirt today and didn't shave my legs, it was bad news!)
ReplyDeleteYes. Everything about this outfit YES! The color is incredible on you, I'm super glad you snagged that top. The pants - eee, I totally recently thrifted a(nother) pair of plaid trousers because I'm so obsessed with yours. They still need taking up and will have to wait until it's not 90 degrees. Even in summer, I can't do trousers unless it's something official.
ReplyDeleteGreat color top! It does not look like just your average red, but has a pink tone in it....at least in the photos. I love it.
ReplyDeleteyes... you look great in this color top, I think brights just suit your skin tone so well. The plaid pants is cute too. Just the right amount of of accessory too.
