It's Inspiration Monday once again! I love this week's choice - Michelle Trachtenberg (whom I actually have heard of!) in a fun maxi dress/denim jacket combo. I used to resist the maxi look and now I am SO obsessed with it, so I was all over this one.
The problem is I only owned one maxi dress. So I may have used this as an excuse to get a new one. In fact, I definitely did. Not that I couldn't have just worn the one I had, but a new one is more fun! I had seen this dress at Target earlier in the week and then it was on my mind all week and I just finally went back and got it over the weekend. And are we surprised that the main color is peach?
I love that maxi dresses seriously feel like PJ's but don't look like them. Comfy and dressy for the win. I added my denim blazer to dress it up enough for work, but I'd love to wear one of my more casual jean jackets with this dress or even the chambray shirt I have yet to buy myself. Hmm, I may have to now use this dress as an excuse to buy a chambray shirt. Cause apparently I need to make a lot of excuses to buy things.
Did you all have good weekends? We did. Busy, but good. I saw the movie Rock of Ages with my mom yesterday - I highly recommend it. Is it Oscar worthy? No. But it's fun, the music is fun and overall I thought it was pretty well cast and well done. I love a good musical! No excuses for that!

ReplyDeletei love that dress. the flowy bottom is so pretty! as for rock of ages. i don't think i can watch it only because of tom cruise. i think it looks good, if it weren't for him. i'm sure i'll end up watching it when it shows up on hbo! i'm glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress! Gives me an excuse to look for a maxi dress/skirt of my own!
ReplyDeleteWe're wearing the same dress for inspiration Monday!
ReplyDeleteMaxi Dresses are hard to beat in terms of comfort and functionality, especially in the summer. The bright pink and denim jacket work really well together and I agree that it would look wonderful with a blazer as well.

ReplyDeleteHeehee, but you only have ONE maxi dress, obvs you need more. Seriously though you picked a good one. I like the print and then shape. I also like it with the structured denim blazer. Gives the outfit some good shape.

ReplyDeleteThis dress is so pretty on you! I love it. And of course you had to buy it for Inspiration Monday, right? Ha! I am glad you could use this as an excuse. Totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteI love that you matched the cross-body bag that's in the inspiration photo! And yes, I definitely agree that a chambray shirt should be next on your shopping list. I got one a few weeks ago, and I have already worn it many times! :)
