Hello friends! Told you I'd be back for Inspiration Monday this week! Today we have Katie Holmes (poor girl deserves a little love right now wouldn't you say?) in a lovely chambray dress. I don't have anything like that in my closet, but that didn't stop me!
I pulled out my dress from Mr. Monkey and added my denim blazer and I was good to go. Fortunately it's no longer boiling hot outside so the blazer doesn't feel like too much either!
We had a really nice weekend, the weather was great and we did some fun things. Now the week looms ahead of me and I fear I bit off more than I can chew this week. I'm so excited for my jewelry party, but the Pants Monkey was not helping me much last night when he said "You know, I'm surprised you booked a party so close to our little vacation." Um, thanks babe! I was not panicking before, but I am now! While we aren't gone the entire week, I'm suddenly thinking of all these things that need to happen before we go. And I'll be spending some time this week getting ready for the party on Thursday so it won't leave me much time to prepare for vacation. Yeah, I did not plan this one very well. Oh well, there are 24 useful hours in every day and I will make the most of all of them!!
I think I'll spend today making some lists, while lists may freak other people out because it highlights everything that needs to be done and can seem daunting, lists help me relax and figure things out! How do you manage your time when you suddenly have a lot piled on your plate?
As always, please head over to the two birds blog to check out the other Inspiration Monday looks (and maybe give Miss Nora some labor dust so she has that baby boy already!)
Outfit rundown:
Dress - VS (gift from Pants Monkey)
Blazer - American Eagle (thrifted)
Shoes - Mootsie Tootsie
Necklaces - S&D and Minty Koala
Bracelets - S&D
i think lists are a great idea, and when i actually make them, i tend to be more productive. however, i am ususally too lazy to make them!! i should make a list to make a list! have a great week...don't stress too much!
ReplyDeleteSometimes making lists helps me, sometimes it makes me feel more overwhelmed than I started out! I hope all goes well! Good luck dear!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit today! I make lists all the time. It does the same thing for me - calms me down. I like looking and seeing everything that I need to get done ~ plus crossing something off the list is so rewarding!

This is really darling! That chambray blazer is a great way to channel Katie's look. And I have to agree! Making lists is one of the most helpful things I can do for myself. Plus, it feels great to cross things off as you finish them. Happy Monday, Beth!

I like the blazer! Lists are definitely the way to go when you're feeling busy.
ReplyDeleteI always love your Inspiration Mondays because you really do just take inspiration from the photos...you don't copycat them (which is boring), you make your own awesome outfit that totally fits with the original, but is your own. That jacket is darling on you!

I like the little ruffle on your dress, and that blazer is a great thrift find. :) Hope you get everything done in time. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your inspiration! Actually better than Katie's. The blazer is a great piece to have in your closet.
ReplyDeleteI am a post it note/list maker too. It feels so good to cross something off the list! Heather
Great interpretation for this week. I think the outfit totally works, and I like your jacket. It has a great fit on you, plus it does have more interest than Katie's frock. Sounds like you got some busy times ahead.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing, write everything out, and check it off as I go along. It makes me feel more accomplished and in control of what I need to do. It also helps me to not forget something important.
Great blazer - a denim jacket is so handy as a topper.
ReplyDeleteloving the denim jacket over the casual little dress

come on over to my blog and see what you think and join if you'd like. I'm joining you. (hug)
You look great in denim, got a nice silhouette goin' there. As for being over-booked, I mostly just panic, and then get deadly calm and get whatever needs doing done. I can't imagine a jewelry party at your house not being fun; y'all do have a beer cellar :P
ReplyDeleteI love a denim blazer - such a versatile piece! You did a great job with the Monday inspo - love this!
