We are halfway through the week my friends! And since it isn't too frigid out yet, I'm doing another skirt. Actually it's one of my favorite dresses to wear as a skirt. I thought it would look cute with this awesome sweater that I got for Christmas from my sister-in-law.
It's funny, when I opened up my gift from her and saw that this was sort of a turtleneck sweater I looked at her like "don't you know me at all? I never wear turtlenecks!" Because usually I don't, I tend to feel choked. My mom and I think we were both hung in a former life. Anyway, after I pulled this sweater out of the box I realized it was more of a cowl neck and that it would be nice and loose fitting around my neck. So, I actually love it quite a bit!

How about you? Do you like to wear turtlenecks or are you like me and can't handle things by your neck? What is your favorite type of sweater?
That is really cute with that sweater! I'm like you - I can't handle turtlenecks, but I love cowl neck sweaters. I'm pretty much love all sweaters(as long as they aren't wool or turtlenecks)
ReplyDeletei feel that way about some scarves, but i don't mind turtlenecks...i think it's probably because i have a super long neck. i love your neutrals...the tights and boots are perfect!
ReplyDeleteOoh! I love cowlnecks and turtlenecks. They feel cozy to me for some reason. This sweater is gorgeous and I love it layered over the dress. This would look great with your red jeans and those boots :) Heather
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of turtlenecks either...too confining! Glad that the sweater turned out to be a nice cowl neck :)

I loathe turtlenecks, but cowls are awesome. Great dress/skirt with this!
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern on that skirt! You are having a very purple-y week - I like it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove your skirt and boots Beth! So cute!
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the fabric, if it has enough stretch to it or not. I love cowls though! This is a pretty one!
ReplyDeletehi Bethie! I would love to have that cowl neck sweater or a turtleneck too. I don't feel uncomfortable in them. You cracked me up when you said that in a former life you must have been hanged. I burst-ed out with laughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your honest opinion about the fav mountain photo. That is very independent of you, Ms. Bethie. That is what I love about you.
I can't bring to mind something I don't like to wear. Oh perhaps a girdle or anything tooo tight, but turtlenecks are ok. Oh you know what? I had a turtleneck sweater I got at Savers last year and it was tooooo tight. I gave it back to Savers. hahaha
I love turtle necks, but its seems that I only have one in my closet right now. Dunno why. I do love this sweater with the skirt! So cute.

I hate turtle necks! I can't stand wearing them. I haven't tried a cowl neck one like that though. It is pretty! Usually I go for v-necks.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind turtlenecks, but I only own a couple since they aren't all that versatile for me.
ReplyDeleteOMG Beth! I used to be petrified of anything/anyone touching my neck. I don't know why but I would just scream and freeze and curl up in a ball in pure terror. it was bad. I've gotten better though and I will occasionally wear a turtleneck but not too often. you look great, friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm the exact opposite of you- I love scarves and turtlenecks all around my neck! What does that say about my past lives? ;-) You look SO awesome today. I love this look.
ReplyDeleteCowl necks are heavenly those of us who feel choked! Maybe I was hung in a previous life, but I can't stand anything tight. I've gotten better since starting anti-anxiety meds, they seem to make my skin less sensitive and tense, but I still find myself tearing tight necks away after a few hours.
ReplyDeleteI love cowlnecks! And great way to get double wear out of a dress by wearing it like a skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love cowlneck sweaters - what a good sis in law :) And thank goodness it's been milder lately!

This is a very pretty outfit, although you know me - I would never think of wearing anything but purple, burgundy, or black tights with this.
ReplyDeleteI love turtlenecks, although not any that feel chokey. I think it is because turtle necks are kind to middle-aged ladies :o
