Today I have on the last of my Christmas gift goodies. And a skirt! Because the mercury is going above freezing and I'm taking a queue from Secret Squirrel and banning pants. I have been wearing so many pants lately and I have many wonderful pairs, but I also have fun skirts and dresses for winter, they need to see some light!
Sweater - Merona, Target
Blouse - Decree, JCPenney
Tights - Target
Skirt - Old Navy
Boots - Target (old)
I had intentions of also showing you the coat I bought after Christmas on my thrifting adventure, but I was super short on time this morning. You may have seen it in my Instagram feed at the right - I'm standing/hugging a monkey statue. I wore it the day I went to the zoo and was joking about wanting to hug the real monkeys but that the zoo is mean and won't let you do that. So then my Pants Monkey said "if you go hug that statue I'll take your picture." And I couldn't resist the opportunity. I love how the picture turned out....except I committed a bit of a fashion sin - I had been walking around the whole day with the tag still attached to my coat! Classy. I took it off immediately upon that discovery.
I get to take some field trips out of my office this week, which was a big motivator for choosing the boots today, I think this outfit would look cute with heels too. But, I have to go count Document Destruction bins in our clinic sites, so I needed something more sturdy. Don't you wish you had my job? So glamorous!
I have been feeling the same way about all the pants I have been wearing. I miss my dresses and skirts in the winter! This is a super cute look. The brown and blue look great together :) Cute photo of you and the monkey too, lol! Heather
ReplyDeleteWhat a great outfit for a mild winter day! Lurv that you banned pants. I have a hard time getting into skirts or dresses this time of year as well.
ReplyDeleteLove that outfit today! The pop of white tights against the black skirt and boots is awesome. Have fun traveling to the clinics - it should help your day go somewhat faster!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this look! They layering is spot on, and what a pretty color on you. I love that nice blue :) Haha, I understand about the tag thing...one is just so excited to wear something that they just throw it on and forget to cut it off...I've done that too :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for field trips! It's gotta be better than sitting in an office, right? Ok, maybe not in the winter in the midwest...haha.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome skirt, is that corduroy? That is my favorite! :) HA, I love monkeys! I went through a monkey phase for awhile. But then I love all animals.

I like the sweater. It has sparkles, which is always fun!
ReplyDeleteHurrah for no pants/trousers! And you have nice legs, so they should be out... The white tights are great here, so fresh. I need some.
ReplyDeleteI adore the cardi - love the details by the neckline!
ReplyDeleteLove that you went for a skirt today! You look great!
ReplyDeleteI love those embellished cardigans from Target! Is your sweater navy blue? Because if it is, I am really liking the combination of navy and black here!

It's a bit more of a cadet blue, but yes, blue!
DeleteI love dress and skirts for winter! And how funny that you left that tag on while wearing it... I've definitely done that before :D
ReplyDeleteMy Bethie! This sweater is divine. And ...I am wondering if you love monkeys?
ReplyDeleteCounting bins ain't a bad job. Try counting burial vaults. Ah, there's a job.
Aw I wish I could hug a monkey too! I love your new skirt Bethie. The blue/white/black combo is a tried and true classic. Lovely!
