It's been awhile since I've taken an outfit I found on Pinterest and recreated it. I was feeling like I just didn't know what I wanted to wear the rest of this week and feeling a bit uninspired, so I took to my boards to see if there was anything I could attempt even with the challenge of the bump. I found this one I pinned of Jessica Alba and I realized, yes, I can do this! Here's the outfit:
It's funny, I was just thinking about wearing my denim vest the other day. I haven't gotten nearly enough use out of it this summer, so this was the perfect excuse to wear it. I'm also still crazy in love with this dress - worn as skirt again - that my friend gave me. It's just so darn comfy, I want to live it in every single day! I also busted out this cute owl necklace that I hardly ever wear. I'm not sure why I never wear it, I adore owls!
Completing the ensemble is my Jenna Lou bag. Still one of my most favorite bags of all time. And there you have it. I think I did pretty darn good with this inspiration! It's funny, the last time I wore this dress was at my garage sale a couple of weeks ago - my mom said it made me look kind of like early Phoebe from Friends. I can dig that, it does sort of have that 90's bohemian type feel to it!
Dress as skirt - Cliche Mpls, from friend
Shirt - Old Navy
Vest - Vintage Lee, Mighty Swell Vintage
Necklace - Charming Charlie
Earrings - Stella and Dot
Bag - Jenna Lou Designs
Sandals - Clothes Mentor
I know I usually do my bump shots on Fridays, because that is technically the day the gestational weeks change, but I thought this outfit would show it off better, so here you go. We'll be 22 weeks tomorrow. I am planning another Pinterest inspired look for tomorrow too! Keep my groove going! I'm feeling much more inspired again. Where do you look for inspiration when you feel like you're in a rut?
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! You nailed the inspiration. I have been feeling a little uninspired lately too, so Pinterest is definitely a great tool to get your juices flowing and thinking about outfits.
ReplyDeleteLovely skirt and the vest ties the look all together! I must try recreate some pinterest photos myself:)

ReplyDeleteThanks for loving the lacy peplum. It was ONLY $5. I couldn't get my debit card out fast enough. Huh? $5?
Your bump is cute!
This is going to sound like the typical blogger, but I decided last night the solution to my wardrobe malaise was to go shopping. I hadn't been shopping in such a long time, and while it doesn't mean that I don't have great pieces in my wardrobe, I just needed something new and fresh to brighten up my choices! An hour later, I came away with 2 shirts for $9, which my husband gladly bought for me, since I promised him I'd save them for our upcoming vacation to avoid the: "OMG I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" trauma I will likely have when I go to pack! Even though I'm holding them in reserve, it allowed me to get out of my mental block of "I have nothing to wear" this morning and created a great outfit from stuff I've had for a while!
ReplyDeleteI love how the bump gives this skirt an almost mermaid silhouette -- not overly, but it's a slightly more sexy vibe than you usually get with a more bohemian skirt!
Early Phoebe! Yes, I can see that! I've definitely gone to pinterest when I've needed inspiration. Other blogs and online browsing get my brain going, too!
ReplyDeleteWow 22 weeks! That seems so far away to me right now! I lovce the outfit BTW, the dress/skirt is so interesting and pretty :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a 90s outfit! But in a very good way. :)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely has a 90s vibe reminiscent of Phoebe! So cute! I get inspiration from Pinterest too and of course other bloggers :)
