Well I'm a little bummed. I failed my one hour glucose test yesterday. I was actually rather surprised by this. My number wasn't extremely high, but anything over a certain point is suspect and the test is basically pass/fail. There is no room for "it's not that bad."
So I get to go back tomorrow and do the lovely 3 hour test and hope that I pass that one. To be on the safe side, I'm doing a sugar detox today. Yeah maybe that's cheating the day before my final exam, but I don't care. I'll do whatever I can to ensure I can still enjoy some of my favorite fall goodies before the baby comes! I'm sort of joking though - if it turns out I need to do a special diet, I'll do what I have to. I'm just going to hope it doesn't come to that for now!
Dress - Motherhood, thrifted
Sweater - "A" brand, Herbergers
Shoes - DSW
Necklace - S&D
In other news, I'm loving this dress I bought on thrift store day. I wasn't going to buy anymore summer clothes, but this dress, while it is like a sundress, I figured could easily be worn into winter with leggings and tights or boots. So I was sold. I also bought a very cute warmer sweater that day that matches it quite well. It's not quite cold enough for that sweater today though, so I chose a lightweight sweater instead. It's also raining today. It's a good thing though, we kind of need it. And it's almost a warm rain. Kind of weird.
Anyway, that's my story for today. I'm bringing my laptop to pass the time tomorrow as long as I can get onto the clinic's wi-fi, so at least I can keep up with all your blogs! Wish me luck!
Oh no, Beth! Sorry to hear you failed the test and have to do it all over again today. :( Fingers crossed that this time you pass! That dress is really cute with the stripes and I can definitely see how you can transition it for the cold weather.

Bummer about the sweets, friend. First alcohol, and now sugar? You are a TROOPER! :) And I love love love this outfit.
ReplyDeleteGood luck my dear! I hope the results of your next test are much much better!
ReplyDeleteWell that's a bummer about the glucose test. That stuff you have to drink is so awful and now you have to do it again. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a super cute dress! I definitely think it could be worn going into fall and winter with tights and/or leggings and boots.
I LOVE this dress! I think this has to be my favorite maternity item yet! Bah! Stupid tests! I hope all goes well :D
ReplyDeletei hope you pass tomorrow...i'm sure you will. i know a lot of people who failed the first time (one of my sisters, maybe even nora did and then passed the next time).
ReplyDeletei've been trying very hard to stay away from summer clothes as minneapolis fall rolls in-- the dresses are just so irresistible. thank goodness for tights!
ReplyDeleteI adore this entire outfit, you look beyond adorable! And good luck with your test, you should have told me your test was this week and I wouldn't have put 800 tons of sugar in front of you this weekend :)
ReplyDeletePS-we need to schedule our mani pedi lady date!
Awww wishing you lots of good health. Still even if you do have to restructure your diet, there are lots of goodies you can still enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI would have snapped that dress up too! Looks great on you! I hope your test goes well! Thinking of you...

Super cute dress! I thought it was a skirt and shirt at first, but I still love it, either way! Good luck tomorrow - eat lots of veggies that morning? (except carrots or sweet potatoes... hmm.... and maybe some others. Ya, I really shouldn't give diet advice!)
ReplyDeleteThat dress looks very cute and versatile. Good luck on your test!
