Weight - We think somewhere between 21 and 22 pounds. We keep doing the hold him and step on scale and then subtract from one of our weight so it's not the best estimate ever. We do not see the pediatrician until next month, so we'll have to wait until then for official stats!
Length - Still around 27 inches or so.
Nicknames - Ollie, Monster, Monkey, Buddy, Bud, Little Man, Goofy
Sleep - we have had some extremely good days where we're only waking up once at night, but there are also still days he wakes up twice. His naps are getting pretty consistent though, he usually takes about an hour and a half in the morning and close to two hours in the afternoon.
Eating - We have had the most fun with solid foods this month! He gets a new veggie at lunchtime every four days. This month we will add in a breakfast food - either yogurt or a fruit puree and also hopefully a dinner item so he'll have three solid meals a day in addition to his breastmilk.
Diapers - Still rocking the size three, but we are trying out some size four for fun and they seem to be fitting ok, a little baggy yet, but length wise kind of nice.
Clothes - Hanging strong on size 12-18 month. I am happy we haven't gone much beyond that yet! The 18 month stuff is even a little biggish yet.
Mood - He's a pretty happy guy still! We still have fussy days if the teething ramps up again or if he is overtired, but otherwise you have never met a happier baby. I am so thankful to be well beyond the fussy period of the first four or so months!
Loves - Evening walk, swimming, bath time, playing with his blocks, Taylor AND Pippin (yay!!), mommy, daddy, anyone who will smile at him, smiling, making spit bubbles, trying new food, trying to feed himself, being outside anytime, his black and white animal art cards
Dislikes - Car rides that last longer than 10-15 minutes (wah!!!), getting his diaper or clothes changed, being cooped up for too long, rainy days, being cold, trying to crawl, being restricted (by being belted into high chair or car seat or even stroller sometimes)
Milestones/things I want to remember - WE HAVE TWO TEETH! I was so excited to see those first pearly whites. He can sit on his own now. He can ride in a shopping cart without his car seat. Trying all the solid foods. Our first trip to the lake. He had his first sleepover away from mom and dad. Swinging in a baby swing at the park for the first time. Fun playdates with his buddies and little girlfriend.
Dear Oliver,
I think you are to a point where you are going to be full speed ahead on new things and mommy and daddy are going to have a tough time keeping up! But, we are up for the challenge! You are learning something new practically every day. Your smiles and giggles are pure gold. You're doing so well on trying all your new foods and we are so proud of you! You are definitely all boy and sometimes you test mommy's patience, but you are still such a sweetheart. We seem to think we couldn't possibly love you anymore if we tried, but each day somehow our love grows and grows. Let's just keep enjoying each moment little man. I don't want to miss a second or take any of this time for granted.
Love,
Mama
