I was unsure on this week's Thrift Style Thursday but then I gave it some consideration and pulled together this look. The theme this week is Inspired by India - so I immediately thought of wearing a long skirt and I chose this colorful fish one, partly for one of my Instagram challenges as well, but also because the fabric reminds me of the fabric of an Indian sarong and also, it's a bit more fitted than some of my long skirts. I had the idea then to play with this scarf as well and I think I like the result!
I want to visit India someday and travel across it in a train. I mostly blame the movie The Darjeeling Limited for this desire (fabulous movie if you've never seen it - it's in my top five favorite list) But seriously, it just looks so amazing and it's just one of those bucket list things. We love ourselves some authentic Indian cuisine too - although I try to watch the spice! We - and by we I mean Nate - even make Indian food for ourselves at home quite a bit. Mmm, chicken makhani and naan. Oh man, now I'm hungry!

We have a couple of gift certificates to a fantastic Indian restaurant near us that serves a great lunch buffet on weekends. I think I know what we're doing this weekend!
Make sure to visit these other thrifty gals to see their Indian inspired looks!
